Don't be scared of all the fun Halloween parties throughout town

It’s the spookiest time of the year with Halloween coming up. Meaning there’s a great mix of holiday festivities and fall fun this weekend in San Diego – check out what’s on our radar.

Friday, Oct. 26

Reader Feast
6-9 p.m. at Broadway Port Pavilion
Sample some of the city’s best food and drink at the San Diego Reader’s first food-centric event: Feast. More than 40 restaurants, food trucks and bars are participating in the inaugural foodie fest.

VAVi Hallow Eve
8 p.m. at Typhoon Saloon
San Diego's premiere social sport league is hosting a Halloween Party in Pacific Beach -- with free entrance. Attendees can win prizes, including free VAVi leagues, by participating in the costume contest. Make sure to sign up on the guest list to get in free.

Saturday, Oct. 27

Halloween Bash on the Bay
3:30-8 p.m. at Seaport Village
Families looking for a place to take the kids might want to visit Seaport Village for its annual party. The tourist-center of San Diego harbor will be filled with fun events for all ages – including an early trick-or-treat. So grab a pillowcase to fill with candy and enjoy the scenic celebration.

Monster Bash
6 p.m. at 6th Avenue and Market
Don your best outfit for the biggest Halloween party in downtown San Diego. Thousands of people will flock to the Gaslamp District for the ghoulish festivities. There will be 10 bars, three band stages and a costume parade.

Sunday, Oct. 28

Dracula
5:30 p.m. at Balboa Theater
Want to get in a spooky mood for Halloween? Then check out Balboa Theater’s adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula. The thrilling, haunting tale will certainly get you ready to channel your inner vampire for the holiday.

Salute to Service
11 a.m. to 3 p.m. aboard USS Midway
San Diego will be honoring service members at the 2nd annual Salute to Service Festival. Entertainment and food will be provided to military members and their families, with hundreds of people attending the family-fun event on the historic USS Midway flight deck. The event is is free for those with a military ID.
