When Art Imitates Food

A truly unique event is taking place in San Diego on Saturday, January 24, 2009 from 6-9pm at Hotel Solamar/Jsix Restaurant.

Organizers call it the first event of its kind in that it will β€œblend the worlds of fine art, fine food and fine wine and music into an extraordinary sensory experience of sight, taste and sound.”

For $125 a person, guests will be offered a 4-course menu including unique dishes of rabbit, sea urchin and crab.

At the same time, four special pieces of art will be unveiled to correspond with each course.

The paintings are originals by internationally-acclaimed artist Christopher M. and inspired by Christian, Jsix restaurant and the creativity of this particular kitchen.

Proceeds from this unique event will benefit the Monarch School, a local non-profit that provides homeless and at-risk children with an accredited education while caring for their needs.
