Local foodies can take a trip to Italy -- or least downtown’s Little Italy neighborhood -- Wednesday to sample some delicious worldly fare.
The Taste of Little Italy food sampling tour will be held in the vibrant downtown community on June 20 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Attendees will get the chance to stroll through Little Italy and visit various eateries providing special “taste-sized” offerings for the occasion.
Participating restaurants include 98 Bottles on Kettner Boulevard, Anthology on India Street and Buon Appetito & Sogno DiVino.

• Filippi’s Pizza Grotto
• Indigo Grill
• Mimmo’s Italian Village

• The Waterfront Bar & Grill
• Zia’s Bistro
Tickets, or dining “passports” to the Taste of Little Italy cost $40 per person. A limited number of tickets will be available the day of the event. Tickets can also be purchased by calling (619) 615-1092.
Attendees with tickets can check in at a kiosk located at the corner of India Street and Date Street in Little Italy beginning at 4:30 p.m.
There, guests will receive a special “Taste Passport” that can be checked off at every restaurant they visit that evening.
