Spice Things Up

Chili, music, beer and pony rides - who needs anything more?

It’s time again the Annual Ocean Beach Street Fair and Chili Cook-off Festival.

On Saturday, June 26 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Newport Avenue in Ocean Beach is set to hold an annual free festival where there’s a little something for everyone to enjoy.

If it's the chili you came for, then make sure to be there early at the foot of Newport Avenue. Between 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., amateur chili cooks are going to  prepare their own recipes in the hopes of winning prizes. Also, stop by Crave's Café & Shades Oceanfront Bistro, which will host “Committee Chili”.

Chili isn’t your thing? It’s cool, there’s much more to choose from. Check out one of the many food vendors which will line three blocks and side streets with food choices of their own.

Art of all skill levels will be on display, as well. Artists Alley will feature handmade work from professional artists, while the Community Mural Project is going to be open to both adults and kids to express their artistic side by painting a square of the project's mural.

Speaking of kids, Wonderland Children’s Area will offer pony rides for children ages 6 months to under 100 lbs, among other fun things.

Looking for fun for ages 21 and over? Try the Beachside Beer Garden & Liquorland for something to drink, which will be located next to the Main Stage.

As if all of that wasn’t enough to fill your day, there's going to be a Skateboard Exhibition put on by the Ocean Beach Skate & Surf Shop, a raffle for prizes and fives stages of ongoing music.

Needless to say, there's plenty to fill your Saturday at this year's festival.
