Get ready to shuck and suck on Saturday, June 19.
San Diego is hosting its first annual Oyster Fest. Following the success of San Francisco’s 11th annual Oyster Fest on May 15, San Diego decided to host its very own fest, which will feature delicious oysters, stout and live music.
The first annual event’s proceeds will be benefiting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and will be held on the grassy lawn of San Diego’s Embarcadero Marina Park. Live bands will be playing all day, allowing guests to enjoy the sunshine, food and drink with a little entertainment included. The main headliner for the event is Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe--a dance-worthy funk, hip-hop and R&B group.
The fun won’t stop with live entertainment; there will be a Shuck and Suck Competition, Oyster History Exhibition and Oyster Cooking demonstrations. In addition to the oysters, beer and fun, a variety of wines and premium spirits will be available. Tickets can be purchased here for $20--children under 14 will have no entry fee.
