Calling all local greasers, hepcats and daddios – check out the new crib, look at more than 100 corvettes and maybe even get a free dinner.

Go back in time this weekend with a trip to the newly reopened Corvette Diner. To celebrate the restaurant will host the First Annual Corvette Garage Summer Bash July 11 and 12.

After 22 years in Hillcrest, San Diego’s favorite rock ‘n roll eatery moved to Historic Liberty Station on June 22. The new Corvette Diner has twice the square footage of the old restaurant, plenty of free parking, and a brand-new “Gamer’s Garage” arcade.

This free, family-friendly celebration is open to the public and will include live entertainment with performances by the ShamRockers, Lady Dottie & the Diamonds and the Beatles tribute band HELP. Also, the Corvette Owners Club of San Diego will showcase more than 100 Corvettes spanning several decades.

This is also a great time to check out the new restaurant, which includes themed eating areas, a full bar, soda fountain and DJ booth. The staff still sports bouffant hair and vintage threads making guests feel that they are truly in a time warp.
