It's one of the most awesome tasting as well as aromatic foods -- delicious tamales. Several San Diego restaurants are steaming them up in huge orders for Christmas and New Year's.
Turkey mole tamales will make your mouth water. Diane Powers of Bazaar Del Mundo Restaurant Group says they offer the cultural treat at their three restaurants: Casa de Pico, Casa Guadalajara and Casa de Bandini. The turkey mole tamales are available through January 6.
You can make them yourself with fresh masa, turkey, raisins, apples, nuts and mole sauce. But it's all made and steamed and offered on the menu at the three restaurants plus black beans for $12.95.
