Free Lunch (or Dinner)

The first 500 people to register their cell phones with the county's emergency alert system will get a free pizza, according to a published report.

The incentive is open to people who haven't previously registered their phones with AlertSanDiego, an emergency notification system that notifies residents affected by emergencies, Office of Emergency Services spokeswoman Yvette Urrea Moe told the North County Times on Monday.

The system automatically includes all listed and unlisted land lines in the county, but not cell phone numbers, she said.

A free medium, one-topping Papa John's pizza will go to the first 500 people to register; after that, anyone who registers a cell phone in the month of February will be able to print an exclusive Papa John's coupon, Urrea Moe said.
