There’s no better way to celebrate the beginning of harvest than by kicking off your shoes, hopping in a barrel and having a good old-fashioned grape stomp.

On Saturday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Orfila Vineyards & Winery located at 13455 San Pasqual Rd. in Escondido will host its 19th annual Grape Stomp celebration, an Old World-style wine-tasting reception that includes a dinner buffet, live music, hay rides and winery tours.

The dinner menu includes gourmet salads, chicken and steak entrees and dessert.

Of course, some hard-earned wine is on tap as well.

Tickets to Grape Stomp 2012 cost $85 per person. For more information, visit the event website.
