    Every year, chefs from all over the country travel to San Diego to celebrate the best in food and wine.

    This year, the San Diego Bay Wine and Food Festival is highlighting the talented chefs in attendance with a special Tastemaker Dinner Series.

    The new feature of the weeklong festival begins Wednesday, Nov. 17 with An Evening of Vouvray with Chef Patrice Olivon of L'Academie de Cuisine and Chef Fabrice Hardel of Westgate Hotel's Le Fontainebleau.

    "The dinner series is an epicurean's dream come true," festival organizer Michelle Metter said in a news release. "The chefs collaborate in the kitchen to design a one-of-a-kind menu that blends together each chef's unique cooking style, giving attendees the rare privilege of enjoying the talents of two highly skilled chefs."

    A portion of the proceeds from Wednesday's event will benefit St. Jude Children's Hospital. Tickets are $125 each plus tax and gratuity. For reservations call 619-238-1818.

    On Thursday, there are a number of choices. 

    Chef Suzette Gresham of Acquerello in San Francisco and Chef William Bradley of Addison will present a dinner at the Grand Del Mar. Some proceeds will go to the San Diego Humane Society and the SPCA. Tickets are $175 plus tax and gratuity. For reservations call 858-314-1919

    Chef Kim Canteenwalla of Society Café Encore at the Wynn Las Vegas cooks Thursday as well with Chef Deborah Scott of Island Prime and Chef Mike Suttles. The event benefits Project Wildlife. Tickets are $125 plus tax & gratuity. For reservations call 619-298-6802.

    "The Chef In The Hat" Chef Thierry Rautureau of Rovers Seattle will present a Tastemaker Dinner with Chef Paul McCabe of KITCHEN 1540. Some of the proceeds will go to Slow Foods. Tickets are $125 plus tax & gratuity. For reservations call 858-793-6460.

    Also, Chef Billy Strynkowski of Cooking Light Magazine and Chef Scotty Wagner of ChileCo Bistro & Catering will present a meal together Thursday night. This even will benefit Mama's Kitchen. Tickets are $125 plus tax & gratuity. For reservations call 866-66-CATER.
