NEW SENSATION: Record stores are cool. Art galleries are cool. Funky clothing stores are cool, too. But how do you describe a store that combines all three, and then some? Well, cool is a good place to start when you're talking about Downtown's FeeLit boutique. Initially slated as an art space for local creatives, the store has blossomed with the fruits of San Diego's edgy art community. Stop by to find original works, offbeat gifts and a collection of vinyl records for sale, and ask about the date of their next in-store event.

FLY SOUTH: If you've ever had the chance to really connect with a shop owner, you know how great it can be. Jeffrey at Junc Boutique & Gallery in South Park is no exception, and he's got lots of fresh ideas to help men and women get the most out of his refined yet funky, affordable clothing store. He also opens up his place for art shows and other local events, and is always busy whipping up some new fashion surprises. Stop by and see what he's got in store for the upcoming season.

TO THE MAX: Forget the usual movie fare and take a trip to the IMAX theater at the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center in Balboa Park. Through September 7, when you purchase one full price gallery admission, you'll receive a free IMAX film ticket for that day. Use it to take a visual adventure through the Mysteries of Egypt or Under the Sea, among others.
