While Michelle Obama turns heads in Europe, the North County community of Escondido hopes to cash in on the popularity of American fashion. The First Lady is getting rave reviews on her taste in simple affordable fashion. This week Escondido hosts its second annual Fashion Week at the California Center for the Arts.
Organizers said the event hopes to draw attention to local and national designers at the same time bringing people into Escondido. The city that's know for its avocados drew a larger than expected crowd last year to its Fashion Week.
