As any self-respecting fashionista knows, shopping isn't a pastime, it's a celebration of style.

That's why Fashion Valley -- a beautiful outdoor retail center that's home to upscale womenswear brands like Anthropologie, Michael Kors and Max Mara--is hosting Fashion's Night Out on Thursday, September 6. Created in 2009 by those arbiters of style at Vogue magazine as a fun way to restore consumer confidence, Fashion's Night Out has become a world-wide phenomenon, with parties happening everywhere from New York to Paris to South Korea.

And now San Diegans can join in the global festivities. Kicking off at 6 p.m. with a fall fashion show in Center Court, Fashion Valley's party will see participating retailers hosting in-store DJs, cocktail parties, live mannequin modeling, special offers, giveaways and more.

But Fashion's Night Out won't just be about indulging in new threads and imbibing some bubbly;  the evening will also be about giving back to less fortunate community members. Fashion Valley and Hard Rock Hotel San Diego will serve as partners in the first annual Compassion Rocks Clothing Drive benefiting San Diego’s largest residential homeless services provider, Father Joe’s Villages. The first 50 Fashion Valley attendees who donate new or gently used clothing at Fashion’s Night Out will have the opportunity to sit in one of the 50 front row seats at the fashion show. Fashion Valley Guest Services and Old Navy will serve as drop-off collection sites throughout the duration of the clothing drive.

Fashion's Night Out will take place between 6 and 9 p.m. on Thursday, September 6 and will be open to the public. To learn more about the celebration visit Fashion Valley, and join in the global party on Twitter by hashtagging your tweets #FNO.
