Get ready for a beach side Oktoberfest in conjunction with an epic band battle. Ocean Beach is hosting one of the largest beer-centric events this fall, featuring beer gardens, contests and a sausage tossing competition. Yes, you read that right. The two-day event is free to enter.

    Saturday, Oct. 13

La Jolla Art & Wine Festival
10 a.m. to 6 p.m. between Prospect Avenue and Kline Street on lower Girard Avenue

    SDSU Homecoming Game
    2:30 p.m. at Qualcomm Stadium
Calling all Aztec fans, it's time to celebrate homecoming. Head over to the Q in your best red, black and gold apparel to cheer on San Diego State's football team to victory. There will be activities for students and alumni before and after the game in the Qualcomm Stadium parking lot.

    Bates Nuts Farm Pumpkin Patch

    9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 15954 Woods Valley Rd.
Take the kids to a genuine pumpkin patch, complete with hayrides, face painting and enough pumpkins to fill a tractor. Tickets to enter the park cost $9 and include a jack-o-lantern pumpkin, entrance to the straw maze and a hayride.

    Sunday, Oct. 14

    Healthy Living Festival
    10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Del Mar Fairgrounds
