Wicked Castmembers Are “Defying Inequality”

Wicked castmembers host a night of cabaret to promote equality and civil rights

The cast and crew of Wicked will host "Defying Inequality", an evening of cabaret performances promoting civil rights and equality.

The benefit performance will take place Monday, August 24 at 7:30 p.m., with a cocktail reception before the show at North Park's, "True North". The one-night-only show will feature members of the cast and crew as well as guest performers. Note: "Defying Inequality" is for mature audiences only!

Admission is by donation: $35 - $50 for general admission and a $100 donation includes a ticket to the cocktail reception, which starts at 6 p.m. A donation of $150 includes the cocktail reception and limited seating at the performance with members of the Wicked cast.

You can purchase tickets online at Equality California, Broadway San Diego or the Birch North Park Theatre box office. Your donation will benefit Equality California, Empire State Pride Agenda, Garden State Equality and Vermont Freedom to Marry Task Force.

Mayor Jerry Sanders and his family were recipients of the 2008 San Diego Equality Award from Equality California. This year, the awards event will honor Attorney General Jerry Brown, Diane Schrier and Stuart Milk (Harvey's nephew) at the Museum of Man on November 14th.
