The Next Colbie Caillat?

YouTube sensation Kina Grannis brings her pure, talented voice to San Diego.

Colbie Caillat put “Bubbly” on YouTube, got noticed and now sings a pop chart hit duet with Jason Mraz. Remember the name Kina Grannis—she could be the next Colbie Caillat. She plays Lestsat’s (3343 Adams Avenue) tonight in an all-ages show starting at 9 p.m.

A USC grad originally from Mission Viejo, Grannis is a cute, curly-haired singer/songwriter/classical guitarist. Her YouTube page has been hit well more than a million times. She tasted fame when she won the 2008 Doritos Crash the Super Bowl contest. Her song “Message from your Heart” could have been heard by 90 million people who watched the game.

By winning the contest she got a contract with Interscope Records. For whatever reason, she split the label and will independently release a CD this spring. Grannis performs tonight along with David Choi and Jane Lui.
