Bear Mountain in Big Bear is open and will add a couple of more runs before the busy Thanksgiving holiday weekend if it gets cold enough to make snow.
And, while they are some of the best at creating what Mother Nature usually provides for free, this year's natural snowfall has been just about nil.
Still, there are a few runs open and, if you're ready to hit the slopes Bear is just a couple of hours away.
In the meantime, if you think you have an "in" with the snow gods or maybe you're a "weather wizard" in your own right, you could win a pair of free lift tickets.
All you have to do is enter the "Guess the First Snowfall Contest" at the link below.
It has to be the date in the future (the very near future we hope) when they get at least 3" on new, natural snow.
