SeaWorld Sets Sights on Blue Horizons

Dolphins, pilot whales, birds, acrobats perform in new show

Flying dolphins, acrobats and birds all have roles to play in a new SeaWorld dolphin show.

Nearly 3,000 guests were on hand for the announcement of the Blue Horizons show that will start in May 2010, taking over the slot that Dolphin Discovery has been occupying for a 13-year run. Dolphin Discovery will have its finale on Labor Day Weekend.

Park officials described the new show as a "theatrical spectacular that showcases graceful dolphins and pilot whales, a rainbow of exotic birds and an entire cast of world-class divers and aerialists, who come together in a place where the sea meets the sky."

Marine mammals at SeaWorld Orlando have been performing the Blue Horizons show since 2005.
