San Diego Oysterfest 2012

Oysterfest is on June 16 at Embarcadero Marina Park North, near Seaport Village

Embarcadero Marina Park North will be buzzing with beer, live music and food on June 16 during the 3rd Annual San Diego Oysterfest.

The Saturday festival at 649 West Harbor Dr. near Seaport Village runs from 11 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. and features a lineup of live bands, DJs and, of course, oysters.

Fresh oysters hailing from British Columbia along the west coast to Mexico will be available at Oysterfest, as well as other offerings from some of San Diego’s top restaurants.

To wash down those oysters, more than 16 types of beers will be offered at the event, as well as cocktails and wine. Oysterfest is for attendees 21 years of age and older.

Between musical performances from bands such as Iration, The Silent Comedy and Little Hurricane, attendees can enjoy cooking demonstrations and a “Shuck & Suck” oyster eating competition.

An “Oyster Expo” area will give folks a chance to learn all about oyster farming in California.

Admission to Oysterfest 2012 is $25 per person. Proceeds benefit Team in Training: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Veterans Research Corporation.
