San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival Returns

Southern California’s largest wine and food festival is returning to San Diego this fall.

The weeklong San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival will be at the Embarcadero Marina Park North from November 14-18, featuring more than 180 wineries from across the globe. Internationally renowned chefs and restaurateurs will also be at the event serving up savory dishes to pair with the premiere wine.

“Last year’s event was a culinary experience unlike anything else Southern California has to offer, 2012 promises to be nothing short of exceptional,” said festival co-producer Michelle Metter. “And we’re proud to bring together the nation’s most legendary tastemakers and chefs, winemakers and sommeliers, mixologists, and brewmasters to San Diego for a truly memorable culinary experience.”

Some of San Diego’s trendsetting culinary superstars will also be at the event, including Top Chef contestant Brian Malarkey and popular restaurant owner Matt Gordon.

Cooking classes, wine events and tastings will be hosted throughout the weeklong celebration.

Opportunities to give back to the community is one of the way’s the festival aims to give back to San Diego. Proceeds from the  live and silent auctions benefit the American Institute of Wine & Food and Chaine de Rotisseurs’ culinary arts and enology scholarship program for students and professionals in San Diego. The Festival has raised over $205,000 for scholarships to date.

Tickets for the event start at $45 and can be purchased individually or in a package deal.
