Run on the Wild Side

The San Diego Zoo's Half Marathon is on Sunday, May 6

San Diego Zoo Safari Park Hallf Marathon on May 6.

The event will give participants the chance to run on the wild side, through a brand new course filled with lush landscapes and views of wild animals including elephants, giraffes and zebras.

After the marathon, participants can stick around for the Safari Park breakfast and re-fuel while enjoying the zoo.

The race will be at the Safari Park in Escondido and will impact traffic between North County Westfield and the Safari Park early morning on May 6.

Proceeds from the half marathon will go toward improving the habitat of endangered Sumatran Tigers that reside at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.

Those running in the unique marathon must arrive by 5 a.m. on May 6 and the entry fee costs $90, which covers registration and access to the park.
