Rock Royalty Set for Humphreys

Some of the biggest artists in the history of rock & roll -- and some smaller artists with big indie cred -- will take the stage this summer for shows on the bay.

The local venue released its full season schedule this week.

Among the most recognizable artists scheduled this year are Heart (July 9), Gregg Allman (July 14), Joe Cocker (June 6), the Moody Blues (July 21), Crosby, Stills and Nash (possibly Sept. 28-29), and a Rock Royalty show featuring the Zombies, the Yardbirds and the Spencer Davis Group will have lighters flickering on June 26.

Tickets aren't cheap for the big names: Bonnie Raitt fans are looking at $89.25  a pop (what's the deal with that quarter?) on Sept. 17, for example, while CSN will try to get fans to pay nearly $100, as will Diana Krall.

The middle of the road is also very well-represented, with performances by America (Aug. 14), Jackson Browne (Aug. 13) and Chicago (July 26). You can't help wondering who's going to cough up 45 bucks for Joan Baez on July 10 or shell out 60 clams for Air Supply and Christopher Cross on 9/11.

Indie goddess Ani DiFranco will stop the clock on June 28, and the Cowboy Junkies and Son Volt will appear on July 15.
