As one blogger puts it, if you like Jack Johnson mixed with Jimmy Buffett, then you'll like Donavon Frankenreiter. Considered "one of the more original voices on the acoustic-rock/surf–rock scene", Frankenreiter has taken his surfboard and guitar case more places than most humans will ever travel.
He's currently touring Europe, then on to Australia and Tokyo but early 2009, San Diegans will get several chances to catch Frankenreiter as he tours to promote his third album "Pass it Around."
He'll kick off his U.S. West Coast tour February 11th at The Loft at UCSD.
His appearance at The Belly Up in Solana Beach in February was extended to two nights due to popular demand. Tickets go on sale Friday, December 5.
Most locals fell in love with Jack Johnson before anyone outside of San Diego even heard of him. Johnson, long time friend, co-produced Frankenreiter's first album which included the song “Free."
