One Tweet and the Crowd Came Running

Dana White caused quite a buzz when he sent out a tweet Saturday night.

“I’m @daveandbusters now I am behind the main bar come get these tix now,” White tweeted.

And come they did.

White handed out pairs of tickets from behind the bar to screaming fans.

“We’re going to actually play basketball here tonight against some of the fans,” White said.

Whoever beat him won tickets you can’t buy.

“You get to sit with me, next to me at my table for the fight,” White told the fans.

The crowd was ecstatic.

“I’m a huge UFC fan, a gigantic UFC fan. I’m excited to see Dana in here,” fan Jacob Krejci said. “He made the sport grow. He built it from something so small and now look at all these people and there are no fighters here, everyone’s just here to see Dana.”

White is very active on social media and has more than 1 million followers on Twitter – a powerful tool when you want to create a big buzz.

“A lot of time we give these giveaways or tweetups we get a really good response,” White said.

He spent time with his fans, handing them tickets and signing autographs.

“The good thing about Dana is, he talks to the fans, he stays and signs everybody’s autographs,” Krejci said. “Just look, he gave tickets out to everybody here.”
