The summer weather may be scorching hot but this weekend in Oceanside, it’ll look and feel a lot like Christmas.

The 35th Annual Old Mission Montessori School Christmas in July Artisan Fair and Carnival is happening in Oceanside on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 4070 Mission Ave. near the historic Mission San Luis Rey.

The summer-meets-Christmas tradition showcases more than 150 artisan booths selling seasonal goodies, from decorations and crafts to candles and jewelry.

Between a little summertime Christmas shopping, attendees can enjoy a full-fledged carnival with rides, games, live entertainment, auctions and food. There will also be a farmer’s market and rummage sale near the Artisan Fair.

The carnival takes place on Friday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The Christmas in July celebration is free and open to the public, though a $2 parking donation is appreciated. Proceeds from the event – including a live auction Sunday at 1 p.m. – benefit the Old Mission Montessori School.
