Navy's 26th Annual Bay Bridge Run/Walk

Participants will make their way on foot from downtown San Diego to Tidelands Park in Coronado

The Coronado Bridge will be chalk-full of walkers and runners next Sunday when the Navy’s 26th Annual Bay Bridge Run/Walk hits the pavement.

The annual Navy-hosted event features a four-mile walk/run along a seriously panoramic course.

Participants will make their way to Coronado’s Tidelands Park from downtown San Diego over the Coronado Bay Bridge starting at 8 a.m. on May 20.

The route starts at One Park Blvd. at Harbor Drive near the San Diego Convention Center. Runners and walkers will then travel south along Harbor Drive to Cesar E. Chavez Parkway before heading east to National Avenue, then up and over the Coronado Bay Bridge to finish at Tidelands Park.

At the finish line celebration, runners will receive T-shirts, Padres game tickets and complimentary transportation back to downtown San Diego via bus, trolley or ferry.

The Bay Bridge Run/Walk helps raise money for the Navy’s Morale Welfare and Recreation programs (MWR).

MWR provides fitness and recreation opportunities to more than 500,000 active duty and retired military, reservists, their families and civilian employees in San Diego County.
