SD Celebrates National Running Day

National Running Day is June 6

June 6th is National Running Day and San Diegans can celebrate by going on a little run with a former Olympian.

On Wednesday former Olympic marathon runner Deena Kastor will host a group run starting at 5 p.m. at the Lady Foot Locker store in Horton Plaza.

The event is open to the public.

Following the run, free in-store massages and refreshments will be provided for participants as they unwind and relax.

Runners will also get an opportunity to meet and chat with Kastor, who holds several marathon records and cross-country titles. She won the bronze medal in the women’s marathon at the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece.
