Nobody wants to be away from home during the Holidays. Sadly, however, many of our nation's enlisted soldiers don't have the funds to travel from their installations to visit their family.

Thankfully, Jack Daniel's is doing its best to change that. In 2011, the venerated Tennessee Whiskey distillery partnered with the Fort Campbell Armed Services YMCA to assist soldiers traveling from the base to their homes during the Holiday season. All told, over 660 military family members were assisted with travel.

And this year, they're going even bigger. With Operation Ride Home 2012, Jack Daniels will partner with the ASYMCA's 14 chapters across the U.S.--from California to Florida, New York to Arizona--to help bring members from all branches of the military home.

Men and women identified as being in need by their base command will be eligible for travel assistance. Jack Daniel's will contribute $100,000, which will be broken up into vouchers covering airfare (for soldiers whose homes are more than 500 miles from base) or $100 pre-paid debit cards (for soldiers driving home).

But the buck doesn't stop there. Jack Daniel's invites their civilian friends to show their appreciation for our armed services and contribute to Operation Ride home. By visiting www.jdoperationridehome.com, you can pledge what you can and assist in the honorable effort.
