NUMBER 3:

Who: Red Light Winter

What: The play’s author, Rapp, infuses the classic heart wrenching love triangle with subtle and comical drama. Matt and Davis have traveled to Amsterdam to live it up and explore the unique benefits the city has to offer. The two were best friends back in college, but now that they're approaching thirty, their lives are taking them in different directions. When Davis comes back to the hostel with a professional prostitute from the infamous Red Light district Matt doesn't know what to do. Davis bought her for him, but he's not ready for this kind of "gift" and it nearly sends him into a neurotic fit. Things become even more complicated when we learn that the prostitute, Christina, has agendas of her own, not least among them love. Overall, Red Light Winter is a dark play that's alternatively hilarious and horrifying as through this raw and painful display of human experiences, we see how heartbreaking it can be to peel back the "masks" we create and reveal what really lies inside of us. This play is rated "NC-17"
