NUMBER 1

Event description:  The first ever Beers for Books event in the U.S. will be at downtown San Diego's oldest bar -- Tivoli Bar.

Come on out and have a beer in the same place Wyatt Earp drank in the 1890's and help provide a treasured book for a child. Be a part of history in this landmark bar. There are pool tables for you pool sharks, Sweet 16 on the tube, and plenty of tasty brews on tap.

There's no charge to attend this event. All you have to do is show up and have a good time and the bar will donate $1 from each beer you enjoy to Room to Read. $1 buys one book for a child in Nepal, Cambodia, Zambia, etc. Cheers to literacy!

Event description:  On your marks... get set...GO do your part to support Autism research!

Start your Saturday off with an overall feeling of refreshing compassion as you run or walk 3.2 miles through scenic Balboa Park.

There will be over 40 agencies and organizations on site sharing information about their programs and services as you eat an orange slice and a bagel to reenergize your body after your run.  Exercise your ability to make a difference.

  • Event Name:  San Diego Indie Fest V

Event description:  Some of the very best music ever comes from local, unsung bands. And you'll find no better proof than this year's

Indie Music Fest in North Park

Discover nearly 100 incredible bands on eight different stages. It's a 15 hour festival of music, art, comedy and independent production that makes this annual event, now in its fifth year, a must go.

Feeling frugal but still want to hear some great music?  Not to worry, they have two free stages of live music too.

Event description:  Celebrate the spring as you walk through the

blossoming community of South Park.


The quarterly Walkabout will offer you many activities including free tasting at several South Park tea houses and marketplaces, live music for all ages, and open shops for you to peruse the unique blend of creativity that South Park has to offer.

Enjoy your nightlife without breaking the bank at this weekend's Walkabout.

Event description:  The second annual

Gaslamp Art Showcase

will turn our downtown streets into an art extravaganza.

The Showcase will feature a wide variety of talented artists in a diverse exhibition, displaying many artistic works in unique settings throughout the Gaslamp Quarter.

The Reflection Art Show on Island Ave will be an outdoor exhibit of booths and The Spyglass Art Exhibit will be within gorgeous Gaslamp Quarter venues like our beautiful fine art galleries, fabulous rooftop lounges and more.
