Thousands lined up to gain access to the panel, many of them waiting for hours outside San Diego’s Convention Center.

Once inside, they were treated to some interesting “behind-the-scenes” stories. For instance, Madden prefers battle scenes to bedroom scenes and series producers floated a “fake script” to Allen to keep a plotline hidden.

Among the new additions for Season 3 is Diana Rigg who will portray Olenna Tyrell, the Queen of Thorns. Rigg will be joined by Clive Russell, Nathalie Emmanuel, Mackenzie Crook, Kerry Ingram, Paul Kaye, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Ellie Kendrick and Richard Dormer.
