Free Admission to Blue Star Museums

More than 1300 museums across America will offer free admission to active duty military and their families so they can take part in the rich cultural heritage that they protect.

The launch of “Blue Star Museums” was announced by San Diego mayor Jerry Sanders and NEA Chairman Rocco Landesman at the San Diego Museum of Art on Monday.

"We welcome our military families to enjoy time together this summer at San Diego's museums both in Balboa Park and throughout the city," Sanders said.

The museums across all 50 states and the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and American Samoa will take part in the program. The program will allow active-duty military and five of their immediate family members free entrance to the nation's museums.

This is the second year of Blue Star Museums. For a complete list of participating museums visit www.arts.gov/bluestarmuseums.
