The "Fantasy On Ice" skating rink is back in the heart of San Diego.

Grab your hot cocoa and mittens for the grand opening Thursday from 5 to 10 p.m. Skaters can enjoy the rink for a discounted price of $5.

The special time of year will bring joy to those on and off the rink. Proceeds benefit the Peckham Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Rady Children’s Hospital.

The rink will be open through January 6 but closed on Christmas Day and Thanksgiving.

Admission to the ice rink is $14 for adults and $12 for children 12 and under. You can also purchase season tickets for $35.

There will also be a Tree Lighting Ceremony on Wednesday November 28, 2012 at 7:30pm. NBC 7 San Diego will broadcast a special show, “Holidays on Horton Square,” at the ice rink.
