Summer officially starts in a few days, and with it comes dozens of events and activities in America’s Finest City.

To help you get through the next three months with ease, we’ve rounded up a couple new apps for your smartphone to ease any summertime planning.

UBER
Need to get somewhere in style? The UBER app is helping people get to their destination without the hassle of calling a cab. Simply download the free app (available for iPhone and Android) and you will be able to order a luxury vehicle at your door in a matter of minutes. Base fares are $8 and cost is $3.50 per mile. Learn more about UBER on their website.

Got Eventz
When you’re looking for something to do on a Friday night, Got Eventz has you covered. The hyper-local app narrows down events going on in your neighborhood and around town. It even lists nearby happy hours and late-night events. The app is free for Android phones and iPhones.

Hotel Tonight

Did some out of town visitors drop by your place unannounced? Then help them find a good nearby hotel with Hotel Tonight, just in case your house is too cramped for guests. The free app helps you find hotel rooms for up to 70 percent off. Using your iPhone, iPad or Android phone, you can pinpoint hotels closest to you or in specific locations.

And of course, to catch up on all your latest San Diego news check out the NBCSanDiego iPhone app.
