Alpine Holiday Parade: Don't Forget the Lights

Get ready for the 15th Annual Alpine Village Christmas Parade of Lights and Snow Festival in Alpine. The fun-filled night parade will take place on Alpine Boulevard tonight at 6 p.m.

Anything mobile is welcomed- only requirement? Deck it out in lights.

In the past, participants have gotten creative.

“I’ve seen Rhino golf carts, boats… even horses and buses!” said Kelly Weiss, VP of Operations at Alpine Mountain Empire Chamber of Commerce, the company sponsoring the event.

Other entry ideas that have been used in the past are family pets, lawn tractors, bikes, and floats. But don’t worry, if you don’t have time to put something together, just wrap a few strings of light around yourself and head on over.

“Sometimes walkers even come dressed with lights, the only requirement is that the entry has to have lights,” Weiss said.

After the parade, everyone is welcomed to walk down to Alpine Community Center, where there will be a festival for all ages.

The entertainment will include snow and slides for children, a DJ, local school band and choir, food, and of course, Santa Claus.

The parade and festival usually draws at least 1000 participants. Don’t miss out on this amazing holiday spectacle! There are no entry fees- just come have some fun.
