KICK IT: Playground antics, live music, and real competition are going to rule the day when Vavi host its 3rd National Kickball Tournament at NTC Park. While the registration deadline has passed, that doesn’t mean you can’t join in on the fun. Along with the games will be expert DJs putting out some of the hottest music around and those 21 and up can hit the Beer Garden right near the playing field. Be sure to stick around for the after party taking place right after the games end. It all starts at 8 a.m. and for more info head over to the event’s website.

RAVING NIGHT: Kicking off at 8 p.m. is the Abstract Festival at the Sports Arena; a rave like no other. Party goers 18 and over will get the chance to dance the night away to the swift beats of club legend Major Lazer, among others. It’s been in SD before, but  event promoters promise this year’s epic end of summer show is going to be even brighter and vivid than past ones. Get all the details, including a full show line-up, at Abstractfest.com and click here for ticket info.

CULTURE BASH: Belize is going to celebrate it’s Independence Day around the world and here in SD countrymen, women and those looking to be apart of the celebration will be at the WorldBeat Cultural Center. The afternoon is going to be full of music performed by Caribbean Dynamics, delicious Belizean cuisine and fun for the kids. It starts at noon and admission is only $5 to $10. Call 619-288-7884 for more info.
