Avenue Q Comes to San Diego

The Broadway musical about real life New York City, as told through a cast of people and puppets, returns to San Diego in July. Tickets for the upcoming shows go on sale Sunday, May 16 at 10 a.m.

Avenue Q tells the story of Princeton, a bright-eyed college grad who moves to NYC with big dreams and a tiny bank account. The only apartment he can afford is way out on Avenue Q, where everyone's looking for the same things he is: a decent job, a stable relationship, and a "purpose."

Even though puppets are part of the performance, the play may not be suitable for kids younger than 13 since it deals with adult themes and includes foul language and full-puppet nudity.

You can purchase tickets for the shows scheduled from July 6 - 11 at the San Diego Civic Theatre by calling the box office at (619) 570-1100 or Ticketmaster (800) 982-2787. Prices range from $18 to $76.
