ELVIS IS IN THE BUILDING: Not “The King”…but close to it. Elvis Costello, the eclectic English rocker, will be gracing the San Diego stage with his soulful presence at Balboa Theatre at 8 p.m. Tickets ($30.50 to $65) are sold out, but you could score on
thrifty sites like Craigslist or Ebay.

BEER GOGGLES: Do your part, buy a beer. Blind Lady Ale House’s, Beers for Books event has returned. And why shouldn't it?  For every beer that you order, BLAH donates $1 to the non-profit organization, Room to Read.  Each dollar is used to buy a book for a school or library in countries like Cambodia, Nepal and Laos. The event is going on all day—don’t miss your chance to give back in fun way.

GUESSING GAMES: Trivia night at South Park Bar and Grill has said “so long” to its old ways—well, some of them. Now, starting at 7 p.m., the questions will be less academic and more pop trivia fun. However, the friendly-competitiveness and good times are guaranteed to stay the same. Teams of one to five players—at $2 a head--will compete for the cash. Show them what you know. Is that your final answer?
