You might say Steven’s television career got an early start. He was 3 ½ years old when he first appeared in a “Mervyns” commercial. “The TV Bug just stuck around I guess”.
The love of television eventually worked its way back into his life during the college years at San Diego State University. From filming football practices to running teleprompter for KPBS he worked his way through various TV related jobs until an internship opened up at a local news station. That station... NBC 7/39! Steven is thrilled to be covering the news for the same station that gave him his start.
Steven currently reports for NBC 7/39 news in the morning and NBC 7/39 news at 10 a.m. Viewers got a daily taste of him from Torino, Italy in February 2006 when he covered the 20th Winter Olympic Games. The blend of news and sports that the Olympics brings is something Steven enjoys. He learned all about "flexibility" while working in Bakersfield, CA where he was a reporter, weekend news and sports anchor, and weekly CO-host of a Monday Night Football show for KERO. During his time there he did just about everything, learning "the more positions you can play, the better."
Steven and his wife Jody have two young children keeping them busy at all times. Annalee born in July 2003 and Tyler born in August 2005.
