TX govenor has visited the Spanos family personally twice in'08. TX has a 10 BILLION dollar budget surplus this year, throwing a BILLION down for a new facility is nothing. No need to worry about the Chargers moving to San Antonio that town bleeds silver and blue anyway. I'm afraid San Antonio's best chances of landing an NFL team passed them by years ago. They weren't able to land an expansion team in the early 90's when they had their chance to get one. Plus, they had 2 owners in Red McCombs and Tom Benson that are from that city with every opportunity to move one of their teams there and didn't. The Alamodome is now 16 years old and totally outdated and needs more than just a little remodeling to compete with the other new stadiums that are going up. Not to mention the roof leaks everytime it rains. Good Luck Charger fans I sure hope you all don't suffer the same fate I had to experience 10 years ago. Sorry Texas,you have enough teams, so find somewhere else to blog your moronic ideas that the bolts will leave for Texas. • Jcollins Saturday, Jan 17 at 8:30 AM FLAG COMMENT Been a Charger fan since 89,Coach Turner is not the problem,the dfense has been,I hope Ron Riveria stays.LT HAS BEEN GREAT UNTIL THIS YEAR,they need to draft a good running back,keeping D. sproles & finding a defensive end that can get to the quarterback. Then the secondary would be better.Also a big wide receiver would help out Vincent Jackson which is underrated,Chris Chambers is overrated & is not the answer.Find a excellent receiver & then the Chargers will win the Super Bowl,also release C.Hart & promote S.Gregory to full time starter.This is only my opinion,would love to hear yours...Great Job P. Rivers for carrying the team on your shoulders,You need more receivers to complement your accurate arm.Thanks for the playoff run, but you really need some help.Coach Turner is getting better the more he is calling the plays...But needs more weapons!!!! ...
