Earth Hour Benefit For The American Red Cross Relief Efforts in Japan

On Saturday, March 26th, Starwood San Diego will partner with The San Diego Japanese Consulate, NBC San Diego, Sophie 103.7, Discover SD, and The San Diego Architectural Foundation (official San Diego chapter of the Tokyo-based presentation event PechaKucha Night) to honor the recent tragedy in Japan as part of a very special “Earth Hour” ceremony. “Earth Hour” is an annual sustainability initiative that encourages people to drastically decrease energy usage for one full hour. This year’s “Earth Hour” carries with it a theme of global preservation, and a deep compassion for the recent tragedy in Japan.

7:00 p.m. - Hosted bites, drink specials, and donation opportunities for The American Red Cross.
 
8:00 p.m. - Lights will be turned off, and a very special acoustic performance by Ashley Matte will be performed by candlelight then NBC’s morning news anchor Marianne Kushi will lead the audience in a moment of silence, and assist the Starwood San Diego team in awarding a lump sum check to The American Red Cross for relief efforts in Japan.
 
9:00 p.m. - DJ Frankie M will perform
 
100% of proceeds from food & beverage sold from 8:30PM-9:30PM in addition to a suggested donation at the door, will be donated directly to The American Red Cross relief efforts in Japan.
