You might say Steven’s television career got an early start. He was 3 ½ years old when he first appeared in a “Mervyns” commercial. “The TV Bug just stuck around I guess”.
The love of television eventually worked its way back into his life during the college years at San Diego State University. From filming football practices to running teleprompter for KPBS he worked his way through various TV related jobs until an internship opened up at a local news station. That station... NBC 7 San Diego! Steven is thrilled to be covering the news for the same station that gave him his start.
Steven is multiple Emmy award winning reporter and a regular fill-in at the anchor desk.
Steven's most memorable assignments include reporting from Torino, Italy for the 2006 winter Olympics and being among the first live reporters on scene during the 2007 Firestorm.
Steven often shoots and edits his own stories and anchors sports from time to time. The blend of news and sports is something he enjoys.
He learned all about "flexibility" while working in Bakersfield, CA where he was a reporter, weekend news and sports anchor, and weekly CO-host of a Monday Night Football show for KERO. During his time there he did just about everything, learning "the more positions you can play, the better."
Steven is involved in several community organizations, including the national Multiple Sclerosis Society and Young Life. Most of his personal time, however, is spent chasing around his three young children.
