Richard Kelley, President and General Manager of KNSD and Telemundo 20, was promoted in September 2010. Previously he was Vice President of Sales for KNTV, the NBC-owned station in San Francisco.

Kelley is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of NBC 7 San Diego, and its various digital platforms. He has re-invigorated the Sales operation with new leadership, and took an active role in the station's news set re-design, and HD conversion.  He took over for Jackie Bradford, who was promoted to President and General Manager of WRC, the NBC-Owned station in Washington, DC, in July 2010.

As the Vice President of Sales for KNTV, Kelley placed a strong emphasis on creating new business initiatives for the station, collaborating with outside partners and clients to develop new sponsorship opportunities tied to the local community.  As a result, he increased the station’s year-over-year share growth in 2009 and achieved KNTV’s highest market share ever in a non-political, non-Olympic year.

He joined KNTV in 2008 from Monster Worldwide, where he was Senior Director of Acquisition Sales. Before that, Kelley spent nearly 15 years in the local radio industry in San Francisco, serving as Senior Vice President for Regional Operations of AMFM Radio, Inc.  In that role, Kelley served as the General Manager for several successful FM radio stations in the Bay Area and later added additional responsibility for multiple radio stations throughout California.  Kelley also spent two years as the Vice President of Business Development for the Internet startup CoolCast and also worked as an account executive for USA Networks in New York.

Kelley attended the National Association of Broadcasters Executive Study Program at Harvard University and graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University with a BS in Economics.  In April of 2011, he completed the Lead San Diego Influence Program.    Past associations have included Board Member of the National Brain Tumor Association, the Oakland YMCA and the Northern California Broadcaster's Association.

Community involvement has been a priority for Kelley, and since arriving he has developed long-term relationships with several of San Diego’s non-profit organizations.  Aside from his work with LEAD San Diego, Kelley has joined the boards at Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank as well as Make-A-Wish San Diego.

Kelley and his wife Kate are settled in the Point Loma area and enjoy frequent visits from their three children, Andrew, Reed and Lauren.
