Although an admitted East Coast girl at heart, Danya Bacchus has the genuine warmth and personality that personify the San Diego community. Danya brings with her a passion to not only report on breaking news and inform the public on critical issues but to really focus on telling the stories of the San Diego people.
Prior to arriving in San Diego, Danya was a general assignment reporter for WREG, the local CBS News station in Memphis, Tennessee. Her past colleagues describe Danya as being hard-working, competitive, and always upbeat.
Danya gives credit to the education she received at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University for the journalistic skills she has today. Her ability to capture viewer interest through story-telling makes her a perfect addition to the NBC 7 San Diego News Team.
