Women Robbers in Trash Bags Chased Out of Dunkin' Donuts: Cops

Cashier said to recognize the pair as customers from earlier in the day

The trashy scheme didn’t work this time.

Albuquerque police said they were searching for two women who tried to rob a Dunkin’ Donuts while wearing trash bags over their bodies.

KRQE-TV reported that the women recently walked into the doughnut shop near the University of New Mexico and demanded cash. But despite their trashy disguise, store owner Greg Beliveau said the cashier recognized the two women who had come in moments earlier to buy doughnuts and to borrow the cashier's phone to call a cab.

Police said a Dunkin’ cashier chased the would-be robbers out of the shop and the women escaped in the cab.

The cabbie later told police he kicked the women out because they didn't have any money.

No arrests have been made.
