Cops: Brick-Wielding Woman Sparks Fight at Chuck E. Cheese's

What was supposed to be a celebration sends one to hospital

The kids weren't the ones throwing tantrums at a Chuck E. Cheese's birthday party.

Wielding a knife and a brick, a man's ex-girlfriend crashed his son's party and attacked his new girlfriend, cops said, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported.

Another woman who tried to intervene in the Monroeville, Pa., melee was also assaulted and bitten in the chest, according to the Post-Gazette.

The man's girlfriend was sent to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries to the back of her head, officials said, while the bitten woman was treated at the scene.

The assailant was taken into custody by Monroeville police and is expected to be charged at least with aggravated assault, according to the Post-Gazette.

The attack could prove another publicity headache for the kid-oriented restaurant.

Facing dismal first-quarter sales, Chuck E. Cheese just launched a rebranding campaign underpinned by an update of its mouse mascot as a modern singing and guitar-playing rock star, according to industry publication Nation's Restaurant News.
