Suitcase Escape Foiled At Mexican Prison

AP

This guy is so caught.

Prison guards were quick to catch a man trying to sneak out of a Mexican prison in a suitcase on July 2.

A spokesman for the police in the Caribbean state of Quintana Roo said staff at the Chetumal prison thought something was suspicious when inmate Juan Ramirez Tijernia's wife left a conjugal visit with a large bulky suit case and a nervous look.

Spokesman Gerardo Campos said prison guards found the inmate curled up in a fetal position inside the bag.

Juan Ramirez Tijernia was in his fourth year of a 20-year sentence for illegal weapons possession. His 19-year-old wife, Maria del Mar Arjona, was arrested and charges are pending.
