Man Breaks into Chinese Restaurant, Steals 40 Cans of Soda: Cops

Police say the suspect is also linked to a January robbery at a hair salon in the area

Police arrested a 43-year-old Long Island, NY, man after he allegedly broke into a Chinese restaurant and stole cash and 40 cans of soda from the fridge, authorities say.

Daniel Dierberger, of North Wantagh, was charged with burglary Tuesday after police say DNA linked him to the June 19 break-in at the Song Cuisine eatery on Jerusalem Avenue in Massapequa.

Dierberger allegedly got into the restaurant through a rear bathroom window.

Police say he's also connected to a January burglary at a hair salon in North Massapequa. An undetermined amount of cash was stolen in that case.

Dierberger is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday. Information on an attorney for him wasn't immediately available.
