Alleged Burglar Told Woman He Was “Sent by God”: Police

Authorities say a New Jersey man found reclining in a woman's car and wearing her slippers told her that he was sent by God— before police arrested him.

Wyckoff Township police arrested 20-year-old Zakiy Muhammad, of Paterson, on Tuesday night, according to NJ.com. He's charged with burglary, and it wasn't known if he has retained an attorney.

Authorities say the 68-year-old Wyckoff woman had just returned from a bus trip when she found Muhammmad lying in her car with the seat back. She told him to leave, but he told her that God had sent him. He also allegedly gave police a fake name and address.

Police say Muhammad had kicked off his shoes in the car and was wearing a pair of slippers the woman had recently purchased.
