Artist Turns Dead Cat Into Flying Machine

“Half cat, half machine” on display at Dutch museum

A Dutch artist has transformed his dead cat into a flying machine.

Bart Jansen came up with the idea to immortalize his cat Orville when the feline was run over by a car, the U.K. Daily Mail reported.

Orville, named after aviator Orville Wright, had “loved birds” and soon will be flying with them, Jansen said.

Jansen had his cat stuffed after his death and enlisted the help of a radio control helicopter flyer to build out a flying mechanism. Photos show two propellers attached to each of the cat’s feet.

The “half cat, half machine” is now called Orvillecopter, and on display at the Kunstrai art festival in Amsterdam, according to the Mail.
